Introducing OBEL Managed Services

For organisations that need a governed AI program without building an in-house operations team to run it.

Not every organisation that needs enterprise AI governance has the in-house capability to run it. Building and maintaining a governed AI program requires sustained operational attention: policy configuration, security event review, governance cadence management, and the ongoing work of keeping posture documentation current. For organisations without a dedicated AI security function, that operational overhead is the barrier between deploying OBEL and getting sustained value from it.

Today we are making that barrier smaller. OBEL Managed Services lets ninthLABS operate your AI governance deployment on your behalf. We handle the operational work. You retain full ownership and control of your environment, with a complete audit trail of everything we do on your behalf.

What Managed Services covers

A Managed Services engagement places a designated ninthLABS Managed Services Agent on retainer for your organisation. That agent is responsible for the ongoing operational health of your OBEL deployment.

  • Monthly governance checklist: every item reviewed, documented, and signed off
  • Security event monitoring: ARGUS-i classification events reviewed, anomalies investigated, escalations raised where warranted
  • Policy configuration: scrubber rules, classification thresholds, and governance policies kept current as your organisation changes
  • Audit trail review: regular review of the interaction audit record for patterns requiring attention
  • Compliance reporting: structured summaries of your AI governance posture on the cadence your compliance function requires
  • Incident response: first-line response to AI security events, with escalation to engineering where needed

The access model

Security-conscious organisations rightly ask: what access does this require, and what are the controls? We designed Managed Services with that question as the starting point.

All access is strictly session-scoped. A Managed Services Agent holds no standing access to your OBEL environment. When operational work needs to be done, a session is created: the agent is provisioned as an administrator in your environment for the duration of that session only. When the session ends, the access is revoked. No residual permissions exist between sessions.

Every session is logged. Every action taken by a Managed Services Agent in your environment is recorded in the audit trail with full attribution: agent identity, timestamp, IP address, and action detail. The audit record is yours, and it is complete.

No standing access. Complete audit trail.

The session-scoped access model means you can grant operational support without granting permanent access. Your OBEL environment remains under your control. What ninthLABS can see and do is limited to active sessions, bounded by scope, and recorded in full.

Who it is for

Managed Services is designed for organisations where the governance program is real and the value is clear, but the internal bandwidth to run it consistently is not. That includes organisations earlier in their AI security journey who want the governance framework stood up correctly from the outset, and organisations with mature programs that want operational overhead taken off their plate as the program scales.

It is also well-suited to organisations in regulated sectors where compliance reporting is a standing requirement. Having ninthLABS produce the governance posture documentation removes it from the internal workload without removing the organisation's ownership of the record.

How to engage

Managed Services is available as a monthly retainer engagement. Scope is defined at the outset: which operational activities are covered, what the reporting cadence is, and what the escalation path looks like. A statement of work is issued before any engagement begins.

If you are already an OBEL customer and want to understand what a Managed Services arrangement would look like for your deployment, contact your account manager or reach out to hello@ninthlabs.ai. If you are evaluating OBEL and want to include Managed Services in the initial engagement model, note it when you get in touch and we will scope it alongside the platform deployment.

Managed Services is not a replacement for organisational ownership

Governance posture belongs to your organisation, not to us. Managed Services handles the operational work. You retain full visibility, full control, and complete ownership of every record. What we provide is the resource and the discipline to keep the program running at the standard it should run at.

Act before the incident does

Do you know what your AI program is sending out the door?

Most organisations do not - until they have to explain it to a regulator, an insurer, or a client. OBEL gives you the observability to see it and the enforcement to stop it. If this post has raised a question your current stack cannot answer, that is worth an urgent conversation.
